IMA & JCH Plan to Integrate

Illini Medical Associates, SC (IMA) and Jersey Community Hospital (JCH)
have announced plans to integrate operations in the summer of 2014.

According to Michael McNear, M.D., Chief Executive Officer at IMA, the two organizations expect a smooth transition as they work to meet all regulatory requirements. “While both JCH and IMA have longstanding track records of success, we will be stronger by becoming an integrated system.”

JCH CEO Jon Wade agreed, “The goals of the new integrated delivery model will be to deliver the highest quality and safest patient care possible. Integrated delivery systems are in a better position to successfully navigate the challenges both organizations face in a dynamic and evolving environment.  This new structure also develops exciting new possibilities for expansion of services in the future.”

Integrated for Greater Service
IMA’s multispecialty practice is composed of pediatrics, family practice, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, general surgery and adult psychiatry. JCH features a newly remodeled ER, state of the art imaging, cardiopulmonary, laboratory and orthopedic departments; as well as many other diagnostic and treatment related services.  Together, IMA and JCH will be able to offer an effective solution that is built upon more physician and hospital staff collaboration and coordination of patient care.

IMA began serving Jersey, Greene, Calhoun, Madison and Macoupin counties more than 20 years ago.  With eight locations in these counties, IMA includes 18 physicians and nine mid-level providers.

As an independent facility, owned by the people of Jersey County, JCH is focused on providing and being the areas primary healthcare resource. The hospital has been serving the tri-county areas of Jersey, Greene and Calhoun counties since 1954. JCH is a general medical and surgical hospital in Jerseyville, Ill., with 65 beds.
